WAR
“WAR” is a story set within Nimbus City, whose origin is unknown, as it seemed to have appeared out of nowhere and quickly gained the interest and curiosity of residents who wanted to start anew elsewhere. Pictured as a renowned and prosperous place from outside eyes and media, within is a place of controlled chaos where, if anything can happen, it will happen. From superhumans to devilish figures, and whatever else is imaginable, there is a heavy presence of supernatural phenomena within this city that is cut off from the rest of the world. The source of these supernatural occurrences stems from an alternate dimension titled “The Unknown” that is solely tied to this city, as both act as doorways into each other’s worlds. As the tension builds between both worlds as forces collide, the fate of Nimbus City and “The Unknown” is undecided, but there will certainly not be a perfect happy ending for this tale.
All the artwork made for “WAR” served as my independent semester project for my Portfolio Development class. Since this was an independent semester-long assignment, I decided to make it something I was passionate about, which was illustrating fictional characters so I took advantage of the opportunity to experiment with a cartoonish style and build up my character art portfolio within my last semester of college.
